There is often an {internal<>external} expectation that we must immediately rebound from a last cut. We hold the belief that, in the wake of any significant decision, we should bounce back and continue on our growth trajectory, as if nothing has happened. We fear failure if we cannot weather change without quick progression. Yet, we cannot always see growth under the surface. These mulberry trees were uprooted and moved from my old house to my new one after my divorce. For four years and many storms, they were dormant. We wrote them off. Then, two weeks ago, my girl and I discovered they were again fruiting, and abundantly so. With time, space, patience and some nurturing, sweet growth unfolds. There is often an {internal<>external} expectation that we must immediately rebound from a last cut.
