I have two friends going through some hefty shit with their bodies this week. How to be a good friend in light of the kind of stuff that you cannot necessarily fix or smooth talk away can feel overwhelming. Recently I interviewed my childhood friend, psychiatrist Jennifer Yashari, who lives with a hereditary muscular degenerative disease and is constantly facing new levels of loss that are not to be optimistically spun until they have been fully mourned. She so simply offered that what we need to hear from others in these moments is, "I'm here. I'm with you." #throwbackthursday #lifelessons#lastcutproject #realtalk #healing
