Just finished editing the Last Cut Conversation episode with Jenna Tosh, CEO of @plannedparenthood California Central Coast. As I listened to the news of DACA repeal today and search for the words to educate my daughter on yet another disheartening decision US leadership made, what resonated most from my time with Tosh was how powerful it is to stand up for and embody all we believe in through our every action, and how crucial it also is in serving the call to act, do and support to take a quiet moment to connect with the why, the who and the heart. This morning I was agitated and rushed when I left to go for a walk. I was looking forward to listening to an audiobook and then my earbuds died (acknowledged privileged, first world problem). I did not get upset. I actually savored every moment of that quiet time I rarely allow myself and tapped back into the motivation for all I do---how I mother, how I friend, how I work, how I love. There is power in the doing and there is power in the quiet. I was reminded today how much I need them both.
