With Last Cut, we speak about what matters most to each of us and the ways we uphold those beliefs in our actions. Sometimes we can feel distanced from these truths. If we don’t pay attention, life can get in the way and disconnect us from the very things that keep us going and make us feel whole. Heading home from LA yesterday with @lisafield12, we drove by multiple spots in LA and then Ventura where wildfires were ravaging Southern California’s dry terrain and talked about how these intense events make all else fade away. Smoke filled the air. The sky glowed. Friends and family have been evacuated from their homes. In these moments, much the same as when we receive a diagnosis or anything else that stops us in our tracks, we look at what really matters. The noise fades away. We pay attention. In the somewhat eerie quiet, we find ourselves reflecting on the very ideals and people we hold most dear. Love and warmth to my hometown LA and all in harm’s way.
