Last Cut Project founder Samantha Paige was diagnosed with thyroid cancer at age 21, and subsequently the BRCA 1 genetic mutation. She spent the majority of her 20s in and out of emergency rooms, facing crippling PTSD, chronic migraines, and debilitating panic attacks.

Following the birth of her daughter, Samantha began taking steps forward in her life, undergoing a preventive double mastectomy with breast reconstruction and seeking help to unravel years of trauma. Thus began a period of “last cuts,” or significant life changes, to create a life that felt more like her own. Desiring to feel at home with her body and self, regardless of the aesthetic outcome, Samantha elected to “go flat” and remove the silicone implants she’d elected with a preventive double mastectomy. Since, she has been vocal about that choice, regularly speaking on how best to navigate life's inevitable challenges and opportunities.

Last Cut Project’s mission is to shatter stereotypes and create a new paradigm for individual potential and growth. With Samantha’s guidance, LCP has emerged as a positive, action-oriented, community dedicated to inspiring more connected, risk-taking, inclusive relationship to ourselves and others.

LCP cultivates this conversation both digitally through the LCP Storyteller initiative, Last Cut Conversations podcast, and in-person events. We are available for workshops and speaking engagements and have recently been a part of the Girlboss Rally, CYCLES + SEX, Get Lit Literati, and more.
